Aelteste Volkstedt Rudolstadt Porcelain Newspaper Boy Figurine Presnummer V20892 Vintage Mid 20th century from Rudolstadt, Thuringia in Germany

A vintage mid 20th century, beautiful quality decorative, hard paste Aelteste Volkstedt porcelain figurine of a newspaper boy (his bag is marked Zeitungen), made in their factory in Rudolstadt, Thuringia in Germany.

This particular one is impressed with model number V20892  ( pressnummer) with the underglaze blue crowned mirror imaged JF trade mark with the date 1762 beneath. The letters JF are a homage to Johann Frederick von Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt  the original patron of the factory in 1762. The figurine is very well modelled, beautifully gilded, painted and detailed with polychrome enamel.

He is standing bare footed in front of a small rock and ferns with a bag marked zeitungen that he appears to be reaching into. He is dressed in simulated rags and a baggy cap on his head. The figure has a low relief scroll moulded base that has a thick gilded band around it. It was made by the German porcelain factory of Aelteste Volkstedter Porzellanmanufaktur of Rudolstadt in Thuringia, Germany, most probably between 1948 and 1972.

The figurine is approximately 5 5/8 inches (14.3 cm) high, base 2 3/16 inches (5.6 cm) diameter. It weighs 171 grammes unpacked.

The figurine is in excellent vintage condition. There are some extremely minor marks to the gilding, only mentioned for complete accuracy no chips, cracks nor restoration. Please see the images.
