Antique 18th century Dutch Delft Tile Blue and White Fortress Seascape - hand painted tin glazed earthenware blue & white decoration 13 cm square
A late 18th century Dutch Delft tile made from tin glazed earthenware with blue and white decoration. It has a hand painted scene of two small sailing boats sailing near a fortress in the distance out to sea. Two swans swim in the foreground from a small bay, which has a number of buildings on the right, including houses, a watch tower or lighthouse set amongst tall trees. The scene is painted within two circular bands with "ox head horn" corner decoration.
In good antique condition with a chip to the bottom right edge no cracks nor restoration. It has been previously bonded to a wall. Please see the images.
