Antique 18thC Dutch Delft Tile Blue and White Fisherman and Boat Riverscape
A late 18th century Dutch Delft tile made from tin glazed earthenware with blue and white decoration. It has a hand painted scene of a man sat on a river bank fishing, opposite a tree. There are two swans swimming nearby. In the middle background there are two small sailing boats. There appears to be two churches on opposite sides of the riverbank in the background, each in amongst trees. The scene is painted across the whole of the tile, it is completely border-less.
In good antique condition with no chips cracks nor restoration, there is some glaze crazing and a minute amount of glaze flaking to one corner.. It has been previously bonded to a wall. Please see the images.
This is a great antique delft tile to add to any collection or for installation. The last image shows this tile with some others offered for sale separately.
