Antique Adderley's China Christmas Cup and saucer Transfer Print Xmas & Auld Lang Syne Pattern circa 1912

A very attractive and decorative Christmas themed antique bone china cup and saucer by the renowned factory of Adderley's.

The teacup and saucer are transfer printed with a festive design featuring Christmas foliage - holly and mistletoe with hand coloured berries in red and white. The cup has the message: Best Wishes for Xmas on one side and We'll Tak a Cup of Kindness Yet for Auld Lang Syne on the other. Both cup and saucer have green painted rims and the cup has a green handle.

Both cup and saucer are marked on the bases with Adderley's printed marks - the one on the cup dates from 1912-26. I would date the set to the early part of this period as they have a definite Edwardian style. 

The saucer is 14cm in diameter and the cup stands 6.5cm high. Together they weigh 190g. They are in good condition with a 2cm tight hairline from the rim of the cup and slight rubbing to the printed design.

This is a very nice item to display over the festive period and a great piece for any collector.
