A lovely art nouveau or belle epoque gilded metal epergne stand and clear wrythen glass trumpet or horn dating from circa 1880 to 1900, possibly French.
The epergne is made of a gilded metal stand ( probably spelter) embossed with a sinous, typically art nouveau floral design. The square base is approx 2 3/8ths inches wide.
The wrythen clear glass trumpet is cemented into place ( this fixing has been replaced as the original had broken down) and overall it stands 8 inches high and the trumpet or horn is 3 1/2 inches diameter at the top. It weighs 190g and is in good condition with some wear to the gilding. It would look lovely as a centrepiece or or a side table or mantel piece and suitable for a spray of flowers or a single bloom.
