Arts and Crafts Pewter Covered Trinket Box Green Jewel Detail Antique c 1910
A very decorative and stylish box made of wood and covered with pewter with decorative pins or studs and a beaten oval design in the centre of the lid.
The box is 7 1/4 inches long and stands 2 3/8ths inches high and is 3 1/4 in. deep. Dating from around 1900 - 1910 it has a typically arts and crafts look accentuated by the green cabochon "jewel" at the front of the lid. Inside the close-grained wooden interior is very clean and has had a divider in the centre at some point, although this is now missing. Unsure what the box was originally designed for, possibly trinkets.
The box has a teal blue felt table protector and some of this has been torn off. The box has a few dents to the lid and some minor scratches and marks around the edges but is a very decorative piece and displays well. A nice box for display and use and perfect for an arts and crafts themed interior. It weighs 429g.
