Antique Arts and Crafts Silver Moonstone Dropper Pendant Lavaliere Necklace 1910
Exquisite antique arts and crafts / art nouveau dropper necklace or lavaliere made of silver and beautiful blue tinted moonstone cabochons.
The necklace dates from circa 1910 - 1920 and is very reminiscent of the work of influential jewellery designers Sibyl Dunlop or Charles Ashbee. There are no maker’s marks just a 925 silver mark on a soldered tag at the clasp.
The necklace is hand crafted and the main section, including pearl dropper is 2 1/4 inches long. It is set with six lustrous cabochons. Above this and connected by two little chains are a pair of decorative moonstone set spacers that echo the shape of the terminal of the main pendant. The two vary slightly in size with one being slightly bigger than the other. The smaller of the two stones has a very minor flaw in the back dating from manufacture - only visible when viewing very closely.
The necklace is 22 1/2 inches long and in very good condition, ready to wear. A beautiful example of antique arts and crafts period silver jewellery.
