Antique Arts and Crafts Turquoise Small Planter Linthorpe or Burmantofts c 1900

A great-looking antique arts and crafts small planter with a very attractive turquoise glaze. This lovely planter standing 4 3/8ths inches high and dating from around 1880. It has a typical arts and crafts / art nouveau shape with a dimpled body and crimped rim. It is unmarked but very similar to items produced by Burmantofts and Linthorpe, both Yorkshire companies.

The planter has a white clay body and the glaze is a beautiful jewel-like turquoise, used by both of the above companies. It weighs 452g and is in good condition with just a couple of very minor glaze flakes inside the rim. There is a small glazed over chip on the inner rim and a small area near the base where the glaze has not covered, both of these dating from manufacture. A nice item for display and use.
