Antique Bohemian Garnet 8ct Gold 333 Pendant Diamond Shape c 1910 - 20
A beautiful, sparkling antique 8 carat gold and Bohemian garnet pendant. This is a lovely example of German Bohemian garnet jewellery dating from circa 1910 - 30, the Edwardian to Art Deco period.
The gem set bale is stamped on the back 333 which stands for 8ct gold. The pendant is 1 5/8ths inches long and 1 inch wide and both bale and main pendant are diamond shaped. The pendant has four marquise shape stones with four smaller versions radiating out, giving a starburst effect. There are smaller round stones framing this central motif and similar round stones in the bale. The pendant weighs 4.9 grammes unpacked.
The pendant is most attractive and the rich colour of the garnets and the subtle sparkle they give is very eye catching. The pendant can be worn on a chain or ribbon either on its own or stacked with other chains and pendants or charms to create a "neck mess" as is so fashionable just now. The pendant is in very good condition with all stones intact and ready to wear.
