A very pretty Bohemian mouth blown glass water jug or pitcher dating from around 1880.
It is made of clear glass that has been hand enamelled generally in white enamel, Mary Gregory style, with a picture of a brown haired boy playing a trumpet. The bulbous bowled jug is slightly ribbed in style and has a simple strap handle. It stands 5 3/4 inches high and the body diameter is 3 7/8 inches.
The base has a snapped off pontil and the jug weighs 270g unpacked. It is in very good condition the base is not flat so the jug sits slightly forward and can rock, with just wear to the gilded rim, commensurate with age and use. This is a great item for any collector and a very decorative display piece.
