Antique Bohemian Opaline Opaque White Glass Vase Roses & Gilded Decoration circa 1860 footed baluster shaped body garlic mouth rim feathery foliage
A very pretty antique white opaque opaline glass vase, probably Bohemian circa 1860. The vase has a footed inverted baluster shaped body with a long flared neck that ends with a garlic mouth rim (shaped similar to a garlic bulb).
The vase is hand blown and has been decorated with hand gilding with a scrolling classical feather like leaf design. It is also enamelled with pink roses, green stems and buds at four points around the body. There are gilded bands at the base neck and rim. The vase has the gold painted number 98 on the base.
The vase is in good antique condition with some loss to gilding and a little rubbing to the enamel. It weighs 968 grammes and they are a very decorative item to enhance any interior.
