Continental Porcelain Ink Well Pink & Yellow Enamel Chamberstick Antique 19th C
A very collectable and unusual Victorian period late 19th century novelty porcelain ink well made in the shape of a chamberstick. The rococo style inkwell dates from around 1870 - 1880 and was probably produced in Germany. It has been hand decorated with a dark pink and yellow colour scheme and has been ornately gilded.
It stands 2 3/4 inches high and has a base diameter of approximately 4 1/4 inches. It weighs 170g unpacked. The inkwell may possibly have originally had a lift out liner although I am unsure about this as the lid fits pretty well as it is. It is in very good order and would make a great addition to any collection of antique ink wells or chamber-sticks.
