Antique Copper Lustre Strainer Jug with Low Relief Moulded Flowers Border c 1835
An interesting and collectable copper lustre jug with strainer holes dating from around 1835. This is a great item for any collector of lustreware or unusual jugs. This item of copper lustre earthenware has a cream glazed interior and a decorative band at the rim featuring low relief moulded flowers hand coloured in bright enamels.
The jug has a round, ribbed body and a picked out with blue highlights and it stands 6 inches high. The diameter at the rim is 3 3/4 inches and it weighs 464g. the jug is in good condition withn a crack through the handle's lower terminal and a couple of very minor chips to the spout. This is a lovely item to add to any collection of lustreware or early 19th century jugs.
