Antique Edwardian 18ct White and Yellow Gold Bar Brooch set with Diamonds and Natural Pearls

Here we have a superb Edwardian era bar brooch dating from circa 1900. It is made of white gold with a yellow gold pin. It is unmarked but tests as 18 carat. 

The 5.8cm long brooch has three natural pearls at the centre - the largest being approximately 3 mm wide. The two on either side have drill holes. I have read that this was not uncommon practice as natural pearls were scarce at the time and drilled examples were often re-used in this way.

Surrounding the three pearls are 20 sparkling diamonds in millegrain setting. The diamonds have a total carat weigh of .38ct and they catch the light beautifully. The brooch has a yellow gold pin and this fastens securely to a c-shaped clasp. It weighs 5 grammes and is a beautifully made item, possibly French.

The brooch is in excellent condition, ready to wear. Would make a wonderful gift or a treat for yourself.
