This very charming decorative and collectable item of cold painted bronze, a coin tray or vide poche features two doves atop a shaped green painted tray. The tray has the signature A Marionnet on the front and on the back, the marks, A, Marionnet Bronzes Paris and Made in France.
The tray is very typical of the art nouveau period and dates from around 1890 -1900. It measures 3 1/2 inches ( 9 cms) wide and 4 inches (10cms) deep. It weighs 425g and is in good antique conditon with just a little wear to the green painted finish commensurate with age and use. One of the screws holding the birds in place is a replacement.
Marionnet is a highly collectable maker and this is a very decorative and useful object.
