Antique Ironstone Plate Transfer Printed Hand Coloured Pekin Chili Willow c 1850
Here we have a very decorative and collectable antique ironstone dessert plate dating from around 1850 - the early Victorian period. The plate has a transfer printed pattern in black and this has been partially hand coloured in enamels.
The Chinese style pattern contains elements of the Pekin, Chili and Willow patterns. The plate is unmarked, as is often the case with items dating from this period. There is, however, a painted No. 1 on the back and a + mark. The plate is 8 5/8ths inches in diameter and weighs 397g. It is in good antique condition with a little body crazing and some scratching and rubbing, commensurate with age and use.
This is a nice plate to add to any collection. Please take a look at my other items listed for sale this week including more antique ceramics.
