Antique Japanese Shakudo Napkin Ring Flying Swan Moon Bulrush 19th C Meiji

The ring is made of brass and has applied decoration in copper - a large flying bird - a swan or possibly a goose - and bulrushes. There is a silver coloured crescent moon behind the bird's wing. The napkin ring dates from the Meiji period, 19th century.

It has a diameter of 1 7/8  inches and stands a little more than 1 1/8 inch high. It weighs 63g and is in good condition with a little marking commensurate with age and use.
