Here we have a very collectable and attractive c 1825 English platinum lustre teapot in an "Egyptian" shape. The lustre is silver in colour but platinum was used to produce this finish. The body is a red terracotta colour. It is unmarked but is most probably Staffordshire in origin.

The teapot is of a low round shape and has a flat topped "7" shaped handle, a high rise lid with a button type knop. It has a curved spout with decorative moulding at the base. For a similar shaped teapot please see Plate 1460 page 244 of A Directory of British Teapots by Michael Berthoud and Richard Maskell.
The teapot is small bachelor or one cup size and stands approx both 3 1/2 inches diameter and high and weighs 212g. It could also possibly be a child's toy.
It has no externally visible damage, there is wear to the lustre and a chip on the inside of the lid. It displays well and is a great item for any collection.
