Antique Meissen Porcelain Table Bell Applied Flowers and Fruit
An antique, beautiful quality decorative, hard paste Meissen porcelain table bell decorated with applied flowers and fruits interspersed with polychrome hand painted insects on a rich gilded lace effect decoration. Inside the bowl of the bell there are four further hand painted insects and the inner rim has a "dot and ball" gilded border. There is no maker's mark but the quality of this item shines out. We think that it is early to mid 19th century, however it may possibly be earlier.
The bell is in fair antique condition. There are some minor losses to the flowers as would be expected, there is a stabilised crack and the handle has been restuck. The clapper may possibly be a replacement. It still rings! Please see the images.
