Here we have a very collectable and decorative piece of Victorian opaline glass, enamelled white opaque glass or milk glass, whichever descriptive term you prefer, dating from around 1870.
This cylindrical stem vase is made of a opaque white glass body that has been hand painted with swags of flowers and a blue dot "jewelled" border with additional gilding.
This is a good quality piece of Victorian period glass and a great example of this type of glassware. It stands six and a half inches high and weighs 129 grammes unpacked.
The vase has an elegant shape and is in good condition - with some minor rubbing to the gilding. It would make a great addition to any collection of antique 19th century glassware or opaline glass pieces.
