Pair Frosted Opaline Bristol Glass Vases Hand Painted Hearts Antique c 1880 27cm
Antique pair frosted opaline glass vases dating from around 1880. A lovely pair of glass vases made in Bristol, England by hand blowing. They have a footed tall cylindrical baluster shape and are white in colour. They have been beautifully hand decorated with low relief or jewelled swags and scrolls and hand painted flowers and two blue crosshatched patterned heart motifs - perfect for Valentine's Day or a wedding gift, for example.
The vases stand 10 3/4 inches or 27 cms high and have bases of 3 3/4 inches diameter. They have rough pontils to the bases and painted floral sprays to the back. Together they weigh 682 g and are in very good antique condition with some rubbing to the gilding commensurate with age and a tiny fleabite chip to the rim of one vase.
They are a very decorative pair and would enhance any collection of antique English glassware.
