Here we have a very decorative and collectable pair of antique jugs, circa 1830, both featuring the same relief moulded design but one produced in white porcelain and the other, yellow ware earthenware.
They were probably produced by one of the Staffordshire factories and the porcelain one is plain other than gilded bands. The low relief pattern features flowers and leaves and there is a moulded ivy leaf on the handle.
The larger jug stands 5 3/4 inches high and is in very good condition with just a tiny firing tear at the spout, dating from manufacture. The smaller jug, is 3 3/4 inches high and the design has been picked out with bright coloured hand painted enamels and has copper lustre details. The interior is cream. It has a little crazing to the interior and a tiny chip at the foot.
Together they weigh 362g and very decorative for display or to add to a collection.
