Antique Silver Tea Strainer Pierced Flower Harry Atkin HM Sheffield 1917 37g
A most attractive and useful tea strainer made of silver and fully hallmarked on the handle with the Sheffield assay office hallmark for 1917. The maker's monogram HA shows that it was made by Harry Atkin (Atkin Brothers) a renowned Sheffield maker.
The strainer is a good weight at 37.3 g and has a pierced flower design. It is 5 5/8 inches long and in very good antique condition with just a little stubborn tarnishing on the back which would probably polish off with a bit of effort! There may possibly be a repair to the handle. It is a very elegant shape as you would expect with an item of silver from this period, just a few years out of the Edwardian era.
It is a lovely item and a nice example for display and use.
