Here we have a decorative and very collectable antique 19th century papier mache, faux tortoiseshell and white metal inlay table snuff box circa 1840. The box has a beautiful deep patina and lovely figuring and inlay.
The box is a very attractive and highly decorative with a rectangular shape and slightly domed hinged lipped lid with white metal inlay. The lid has an inset metal hinge.
The box is 3 3/4 inches long, 2 1/4 inch wide and 7/8 inches high, it weighs 67g unpacked and is in good antique with minor wear to the edges, commensurate with age and use, it is in a very useable condition and is highly collectable.
This is a very attractive example of an antique 19th century papier mache faux tortoiseshell snuff box and a very decorative item to enhance any collection.
