Antique Spongeware Plate Hand Painted Tulip Pattern Norman W Franks, London 1910
A very attractive and collectable piece of hand decorated spongeware pottery dating from around 1910 - 1920 and retailed by Norman W Franks of Chesptow Place, Bayswater, London.
This 8 1/4 inch dianeter plate has Franks' printed mark on the back but was probably produced in Scotland. It is a very decorative item with a colourful, naive design featuring floral motifs, possibly tulips. The main colours are blue, pink, purple and green. The plate is in good condition and weighs 368g.
A lovely item to add to any collection. It would make a great addition to any collection of spongeware or spatterware/ folk art type pottery. If you would like to see additional pictures of this item, please contact us.
