Antique Stone Ware Blue & White Transfer Printed Stilton Stand Willow Pattern circa 1840 27.3 cm diameter Possibly John Ridgway

A decorative and collectable antique stone ware stilton stand, cheese stand or large cake stand with transfer printed willow pattern decoration circa 1840. The stand has a printed mark on the back, "Stone Ware" and is similar to the mark used by John Ridgway of Cauldon Place, Shelton Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire, England. Circa 1830-1841.

The stand is 10 3/4 inches (27.3 cm) in diameter and stands 2 7/8 inches (7.3 cm) high it weighs 1427 grammes unpacked. It is in good antique condition, with a small chip to the rim and a hairline in the glaze in the bottom of the stand above the base at the 8 o'clock position a little discolouration to the rim.  A great item for blue and white transferware collectors or pottery collectors of  ware from the first half of the 19th Century.
