Antique Uranium Glass Oil lamp duplex burner marked - Lewtas - National Lamp Works - circa 1890 - complete duplex burner chimney shade & carrier 57cm

An antique late Victorian relief moulded uranium glass oil lamp with integral round bulbous uranium glass stand. The reservoir or bowl has high relief moulded floral geometric design and a brass collar for the burner.  The pale green - yellow lamp body fluoresces under ultra violet light (black light). Please see the last two images. The lamp is complete with burner, brass shade carrier, white glass student shade and glass chimney. There is no wick and the bowl, font or reservoir has been cleaned to enable safe postal delivery.

This unusual late 19th century antique English Victorian oil lamp with a brass duplex burner, the wick winder buttons are marked NATIONAL LAMP WORKS and LEWTAS ENGLISH MAKE. Made by H. and G.O. Lewtas of Cornbrook Lamp Works, Manchester, England. The lamp dates to circa 1890.

This oil lamp is in overall excellent antique condition. The body is in excellent antique condition, the base has a rough or broken pontil as manufactured. The burner has no wicks. The shade carrier has had the support legs re-soldered and has some signs of previous distortion. The chimney is in excellent condition as is the shade which does have a few of the usual minor nicks around the base, these are hidden by the shade carrier.

A striking looking antique oil lamp for collectors of Victorian lighting, kerosene or paraffin lamps or Uranium glass.
