Antique Victorian Cut Glass Shaft and Globe Decanter with Faceted Stem c 1880
A very attractive and usable Victorian period clear glass decanter dating from around 1880. The decanter has a shaft and globe shape and has lots of cut detail around the bowl and with diamond shaped factes around the stem.
The stopper is also extensively cut and has a flat top so that it stands safely on the table while the wine is breathing or being poured. The decanter is 12 inches high including the stopper and it weighs 950g. It is a good quality item possibly produced in Stourbridge. It has a star cut base and has the amount of wear to the base that you would expect to see with an antique item of glassware for the table. This is a very nice antique decanter for display and use.
