Shaft and Globe Cut Glass Decanter Faceted Neck Antique Victorian 1880
A Victorian period antique cut glass shaft and globe shaped decanter dating from circa 1880. This great looking blown decanter has been beautifully cut with hexagonal facets to the neck, panel cuts to the shoulder and three rows of thumb cuts to the body.It has a star cut base.
The decanter stands 10 inches high with its cut glass hollow round ball stopper which has thumb cuts and a deep cut star shape to the top. It dates to the last quarter of the 19th century, Queen Victoria was on the throne at the time.
The decanter is a good weight at 770 grammes. It is in good condition with some minor nicks to the edges of the facets and a tiny chip at the star on the top of the stopper and some chipping to the bottom of the stopper.
This is a lovely item for display and use.
