Antique Victorian Silver Scottish Agate Oval Quatrefoil Brooch Pin c 1880
Here we have a very attractive and wearable Victorian period Scottish agate and silver brooch or pin. The brooch is quatrefoil in shape and is set with four crescent shaped pieces of agate in shades of brown and green.
There is bright cut engraving around the settings and the brooch is a well made, good quality example of Scottish agate jewellery, made popular in the 1870s plus period by Queen Victoria who loved Scotland and its culture.
The brooch is made of silver - unmarked but tests as such and is 1 1/2 inches long. The long pin fastens very securely to a c-shaped clasp. It is in very good condition, ready to wear and would make a great addition to any collection.
