Antique 14ct Gold Large Fiery Opal Bracelet with Diamond Set Shoulders c 1930

A beautiful item of antique art deco jewellery made of 14ct or 585 gold. This delightful bracelet dates from around 1930s and is set with a large 10 carat white opal that catches the light beautifully with lots of fire giving off flashes of green and pink. This eye-catching oval shaped stone measures 17mm by 12 mm and added sparkle is provided by the white gold diamond set shoulders which perfectly complement the colourful opal. The shoulders have an art deco design and the diamonds are set millegrain style with a total carat weight of approx 0.3 carats

The articulated rectangular linked yellow gold chain fits beautifully on the wrist and the bracelet length is approx 7 1/4 inches or just over 18 cms. The bracelet weighs 10.6 grammes.

The clasp is stamped 585 and the push in snap clasp fastens very securely and has an additional side catch and safety chain for added peace of mind.

The bracelet is in very good antique condition, ready to wear with just a very minor flake to the face of the claw set opal near the edge, possibly a stone setter's flaw and some very minor superficial surface scratches. One of the larger diamonds has an inclusion visible with an eye glass. We mention these points for full accuracy but none are detrimental to the appearance of the bracelet and are consistent with an antique jewellery item. All the diamonds have been tested.

This is a stunning piece of art deco period jewellery that gives a nod to the elegance of the earlier Edwardian - 1920s era.
