Art Nouveau Glass John Walsh Walsh Footed Posy Vase Pale Amber British Art Glass

Art Nouveau Glass John Walsh Walsh Footed Posy Vase Pale Amber British Art Glass

Here we have a very attractive art nouveau glass footed posy vase probably made by John Walsh Walsh of Stourbridge and dating from around 1900.

The footed hand blown, fan shaped vase has a wrythen body and a plain foot. It is also reminiscent of the designs of James Powell for Whitefriars.

The glass is pale amber in colour and it has a slightly graduated effect being a little darker at the foot. The vase has a crimped rim, typical of the art nouveau period and stands 4 1/4 inches high. The base has a diameter of 2 3/8ths inches and has the signs of wear that you would expect to see with an antique piece of glass.  It weighs 110g and is in very good condition throughout - a lovely item to add to any collection of art nouveau or British art glassware.
