Art Nouveau Pressed Brass Finger Plate Seed Pods Original Antique circa 1900
An art nouveau pressed brass finger plate in original polished condition. It is in a typical art nouveau style and is generally rectangular in shape with a stylised fuschia scroll to the top. The main body has an embossed pattern of stylised intertwined seed pods or flower heads set onto a plain flat background. The back is stamped with a makers number D.972 and the registered design number of 374416 which dates to about 1901.
The finger plate or door push is 11 5/8 inches (29.4 cm ) high by 3 1/16 inches ( 7.8 cm ) wide and the depth is about 7/32 inch (0.6 cm). It weighs 175 grammes unpacked. It is in excellent antique condition, it has some very minor marks commensurate with age and use. It is made of pressed solid brass sheet.
This is a great decorative and useful item of antique art nouveau brass, a door finger plate for a period home or to add to any metalware collection.
