Chamberlains Worcester Porcelain Flow Blue Dinner Plate Antique Victorian c 1850
A Chamberlain's Worcester porcelain dinner plate decorated with an under glaze flow blue transfer printed floral pattern. The back has an impressed mark - Chamberlain's Worcester used between 1847 -1852. See Godden's Encyclopedia of pottery and Porcelain marks page 139 mark 849.
This very attractive scalloped rimmed plate has been hand gilded to accentuate the design on the border of flowers and foliage.'s
It measures 10 1/2 inches in diameter and weighs 613 g. It is in good condition with a little glaze rubbing at the rim and a couple of minor chips to the underside of the rim. There is very minor body crazing and some small frit marks, dating from manufacture.
This is a great piece to add to any collection of flow blue or Chamberlain's Worcester pieces. Please see my other blue and white ceramics also listed for sale this week, including a flow blue planter.
