A very attractive and usable Georgian period English lead glass faceted stem wine or port glass circa 1800 . This lovely wine glass has a mix of seven hexagonal and diamond cuts to the base of the bowl and to the stem. The round funnel bowl has no other decoration than the facets to the base. The foot is a comparatively large diameter and is plain in form with a ground pontil. It makes a lovely ring when flicked with a finger.
It is in very good antique condition, there are tooling marks, striations and inclusions within the metal and a few bubble inclusions, The stem has a couple of minor scratch marks to the facets. It has the wear to the base that you would expect to see with antique glassware for the table.
It would make a great addition to any collection of antique drinking glasses and very decorative for display and excellent for use.
