Georgian Mallet Shaped Decanter 3 Neck rings Mushroom Stopper c 1820
A Georgian mallet shaped three neck ring glass spirit, liqueur or small wine decanter dating from the early 19th century circa 1820. The decanter is made of clear blown glass has a panel cut shoulder and comb cut base, there is a ground pontil to the underside. The stopper is a moulded mushroom shape with an undercut top. The upper face of the stopper has been star cut.
It is in good condition with a little blooming to the inside bottom. The mushroom stopper, which fits very well, has possibly been sat in some liquid for a while in the past, as the faces of the cutting are slightly bloomed. There are some minor marks and scratches to the sides from use. This is a lovely item to add to any collection and a very decorative display piece and very usable.
