Georgian Round Bowl Diamond Faceted Stem OXO Wine Glass Antique c 1780
A beautiful antique Georgian diamond faceted stem wine glass with a round bowl engraved with and egg and dart or "OXO" and swag decoration. This glass dates to the late 18th century around 1780, George III was on the throne in the UK when this glass was made.
The glass has a round bowl on a diamond faceted stem on a plain conical foot which has a rough or snapped pontil. This is a nice quality glass and has the distinctive slightly greyish hue of antique lead glass. It rings beautifully when flicked with a finger.
It is in excellent condition with no chips cracks nor restoration. There are signs of tooling marks and some bubble inclusions in the body of the metal. There is a burst glass air bubble in the side of the bowl.
This glass along with the others, which are being sold separately, shown in the last image are a part of our personal collection that we have listed for sale. This glass is great for use or for a collector of wine glasses, Georgian glass or OXO or egg and dart decoration.
