Georgian Wine Glass Opaque Twist Stem Chinoiserie Engraved Bowl Antique 1760

A beautiful antique Georgian single series opaque twist (SSOT) stem wine glass with a ribbed ogee bowl with everted rim. The bowl is engraved with a Chinoiserie pattern of a twin storey pagoda with fence and trees, one of which is a palm tree. This glass dates to the mid 18th century around 1760, Either George II or George III was on the throne in the UK when this glass was made.

The glass has an ogee bowl ribbed at the base with everted rim, on a the opaque twist 15-ply white spiral tape stem, on a plain conical foot which has a rough or snapped pontil. This is a nice quality glass and has the distinctive slightly greyish hue of antique lead glass. It rings beautifully when flicked with a finger.

It is in very good antique condition there is a tiny chip to the underside of the foot. Please see the last image. There are signs of tooling marks and some bubbles and inclusions in the body of the metal.
