H and R Daniel Porcelain Plain Edge shape variation C Trio pattern 4653 c 1835

An H & R Daniel porcelain trio, in the plain edge shape variation C, circa 1835. This set consists of a tea cup, coffee cup, each with a very complex ornate handle, and saucer. They are all beautifully hand painted and gilded in very decorative 4653 pattern with a green and yellow ground with a central floral bouquet and roses and other flowers around the ornate border. Each item has been extensively and ornately gilded. This rare, beautiful quality and highly collectable trio has the remnants and traces of a mark 4653 on the base of the tea cup.

Henry Daniel ran a porcelain decorating business and had a strong connection with Josiah Spode II, having a decorating establishment within the Spode works.  In 1822 he set up on his own account decorating and manufacturing porcelain he traded as Daniel and son. In 1826 he went in to partnership with his son Richard and when they traded as H & R Daniel. They operated from London Road, Stoke and also Shelton, Staffordshire, England from 1826 until 1846.

Item condition: Good antique condition. absolutely minimal wear to the gilding , each item has a some damage the coffee can has an old restoration to the curved thumb rest. The handle on the tea cup has been broken and glued and the saucer has been chipped and rivet repaired, it also has a short crack to the left of the chip. Please see the images.  They still display well.

This is a great item to add to any collection of  coffee cups, tea cups, trios, antique English early 19th century, late Georgian, William IV or H&R Daniel porcelain.
