Hand Painted Copper Lustre Ale Beaker Cup with Pink Lustre Rim c 1840

A copper lustre beaker with hand painted flowers and leaves and a pink lustre internal rim dating from around 1840. This is a great item for any collector of lustreware or small ale beakers or cups. This copper lustre earthenware beaker has a plain greenish white glazed interior (lead glaze) with a pink lustre rim and has green yellow and blue enamelled flowers and leaves around the middle of the outside. The tapered cylindrical shaped body has low relief engine turned dotted border to the rim.

The cup or beaker stands approximately 2 1/2 inches high, the diameter at the widest point is 2 3/4 inches, 1 5/8 inches diameter at the base, it weighs 78 grammes unpacked.  The beaker is in excellent antique condition with no chips cracks nor restoration.. There is some extremely minor rubbing to the enamel decoration, commensurate with the age and use. This is a lovely item to add to any collection of antique copper lustreware or early 19th century ale beakers or cups.
