A small rectangular Japanese cloisonne or cloisonné (shippo - 七宝) enamel bracket footed dish. It is decorated on a turquoise - blue background with a red enamel border and has restrained colours with a butterfly and various flowers in shades of pink, green and blue.
The dish has a copper metal base and has a patinated brass rim. The tray has been applied with a small metal cloisons (wires) to make the butterfly and floral pattern within the turquoise blue ground colour and coloured enamels. There are red circular or globular borders around the rim. The underside has a plain turquoise - green enamel finish.
The tray is rectangular in shape with rounded corners with four scalloped shaped bracket feet similarly enamelled to the top. This beautiful and decorative antique dish or small trinket tray which dates from the Meiji period circa 1900.
In good antique condition, no chips, cracks nor restoration to the top surface, some very minor bubbles and pitting in the upper surface, the lower surface has some minor enamel flaking or chipping one end between the feet. Unseen when in use.
