Vintage Austro-Hungarian Style Silver Citrine Mabe Pearl Panel Bracelet Vienna
A very attractive and high quality Austrian silver bracelet in the Austro-Hungarian style. This very stylish and well made silver bracelet made of 800 silver and fully hallmarked for Vienna, Austria with the W4 Toucan mark and a maker's monogram, BK. The style of the letter W for Vienna dates it to the 1930s.
The bracelet has four decorative cast panels featuring a design that shows a classical scene of a woman, who we think is Thetis, riding astride a Hippocampus or mythical Sea Horse. Each panel has two collet set mabe or blister pearls. Between each panel is a cast quatrefoil motif in a filigree style set with a faceted, flat topped Citrine stone - a lovely contrast to the silver and pearls. One of the stone set sections serves as the clasp housing and a push in snap type fastener slots into here securely and discreetly.
The bracelet is hallmarked on the tongue of the fastener and on the back of the clasp, there are also stamps at the lower edges of the end two panels.
The bracelet measures 7 1/4 inches long or 18.5 cms, not including the snap that goes into the clasp. The panels are 1/2 inch wide. It weighs 24 grammes and is in very good condition throughout - ready to wear. Would make a lovely Christmas gift or a treat for yourself.
