John Rose Coalport porcelain creamer or milk jug transfer printed & hand coloured Indian Tree Pattern - Antique circa 1836 squat melon shape 0.5 pint

A very attractive and collectable squat melon shaped, creamer or milk jug with a moulded scroll edge and quadrate base. The jug has a composite "C" scroll handle with thumb rest. This jug was made by Coalport porcelain of Shropshire England, from the John Rose period circa 1836.

The jug has been transfer printed and hand coloured with the Indian Tree pattern. The iron red and gilded hand painted motif at two points on the black lower border is a signature John Rose feature. There are decorator's and gilder's marks on the inner edge of the foot rim.

The jug is 6 1/8 inches ( 15.5 cm) long and 4 5/16 inches (11 cm) wide and 5 inches (18.1 cm) high. It has a capacity of 1/2 pint and weighs 317 grammes unpacked and is in very good condition with a slight firing tear on the mould line up the front.

It is a decorative antique porcelain jug for any collector of John Rose Coalport or late Georgian to William IV period English porcelain.
