Korean Porcelain Plate or Dish Blue and White Chosŏn 朝鮮時代 19th C
An antique Korean blue and white porcelain dish or plate, loosely painted in blue and white with a stylised landscape garden scene with flowers leaves and plants. There is a central double ring border and a blue border rim. The underside of the rim is decorated with stylised grass landscapes.
The back is marked the Korean script that we think says 시득키, sideugki , which translates we think as Hardship ?
We believe it to be 19th century , possibly earlier, during the Chosŏn or Joseon dynasty 朝鮮時代 (1394-1897) 韓國青花紋盤
A Korean blue and white dish, 한국 파란색과 흰색 접시
It is in good antique condition, there is a very small old repair to the rim and there is some fritting and glaze flaws to the rim. This is a great and fairly unusal item to add to any collection of 19th century antique Asian porcelain.
