An attractive antique porcelain teapot stand decorated with under-glaze blue transfer printed and hand coloured Japan pattern number 558, featuring trees, bamboo, butterflies and a lattice bridge in iron red, cobalt blue, orange and green coloured enamels with gilt enhancements upon a white porcelain ground. The gilt pattern number 558 is painted underneath. There is gilded lining or banding around the rim. The teapot stand was made by Minton, it is a recorded pattern of theirs. It dates to around 1810 during the Regency period of the later George IV. It was made in Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire England. George III was King but, the Prince Regent was on the throne in the early 19th century when this was made in the late Georgian era.
This lovely antique first period Minton porcelain teapot stand is in good antique condition. There is some rubbing to the enameling and gilding and some crazing and associated body discolouration predominantly seen on the base. No chips cracks nor restoration.
