A Mintons porcelain aesthetic movement blue and white transfer printed teapot, a very attractive and an highly collectable antique item . This unusual gourd shaped tea pot has a top handle, not unlike a kettle, and has the impressed mark Mintons on the base including the date cypher mark for 1878. There are also a number of other impressed marks including a diamond registration mark.
The teapot is decorated with the transfer printed "Blue Delft" pattern and there are gilded rims, lines, flowers and banding.
The teapot is in good antique condition with some minor wear to the gilding, a small repaired chip to the tip of the spout, the handle has been cracked at the back and re-glued and the underside of the base has a crack, please see the images.
This is a great piece for any collector and a very decorative display item.
