Pair Antique Pearlware Pottery Plates Thomas Dimmock Coloured Argyll Patt c 1850
Here we have a very attractive and collectable pair of antique pearlware dinner plates by a Staffordshire maker, Thomas Dimmock and Co who had factories at Shelton and Hanley between 1828 and 1859.
Printed marks on the back show the pattern name, Argyll and Dimmock's distinctive knot monogram. There is also an impressed mark, Pearl Ware. The plates have a transfer printed Chinese influenced pattern in mid blue with hand coloured detail in iron red, pink, green, turquoise and yellow.
The pattern is recorded on the Transferware Collectors club database item number 13542. The plates recorded have pattern number 1/1501 however, these plates are pattern number 1/1821 as the hand colouring has a different emphasis within the design.
Together they weigh 1008g and they are in good condition with just a little minor paint flaking to the enamels.hey are a very decorative pair of plates for display or to add to any collection of antique English pearl ware
