Pair Decanter Late 19th Century Clear Glass Pear Footed Decanters FJ Monogram

A very decorative and usable pair of antique decanters, a cross between pear shaped and shaft and globe, dating from around 1890 - 1900. This is an elegant pair of decanters dating from the late Victorian to Edwardian period. They are well made and good quality, possibly produced by one of Stourbridge factories. They are footed with round bowls and long necks. They have facet cut air tear stoppers and have gilded bands around the foot and the neck. They also have gilt monograms with an intertwined ornate Gothic type F and J.

The decanters stand 12 3/4 inches high and have a diameter at the bowl of approximately 5 inches. Together they weigh 885g and are in very good condition with just a small chip to the footrim of one decanter. There is some minor internal marking from previous storage of wine.

A lovely pair for display and use, particularly for anyone with the initials FJ.
