Pair of antique Wedgwood majolica pottery rope handled jugs - Purple Glazed elegant slender tapering cylindrical form - c 1920 - 18.1cm H 1 1/4 pints

An antique pair of Wedgwood manganese purple majolica glazed rope handled jugs or pitchers of an elegant slender tapering cylindrical form with a rounded base and foot.  The interior of the jugs have the same purple coloured Rockingham glaze and a capacity of about 1 1/4 pints or 750 ml, so they could be used as wine jugs.

These antique majolica glazed jugs in a Victorian style were made in the factory originally owned by Josiah Wedgwood, Wedgwood of Etruria, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire, England. The bases are impress marked Wedgwood, one also is stamped Etruria, and both are impress marked with the three character date codes, one for 1918 the other for 1921. These are decorative and collectable pair of antique majolica pottery dating from the early 20th century.

The jugs or pitchers are both in excellent antique condition with the usual crazing to the glaze, some very minor marking to the glaze commensurate with the age and use. No chips cracks nor restoration. Please see the images.
