Pair Transfer Printed Blue and White Seaweed Floral Meat Plates c 1840
A pair of small meat plates or platters dating from around 1840. This lovely pair of very decorative oval plates made of earthenware and with a very attractive light blue transfer printed pattern featuring seaweed, foliage, fronds, flowers and geometric devices.
The plates have no maker's marks, as is often the case with pottery pieces dating from this period, but both have the impressed number 11 on the base. A lovely pair of plates to add to any collection of antique blue and white transfer ware or kitchenalia.
They measure 12 1/2 inches by 10 inches approximately. They are in good antique condition Both have glaze crazing and one has obviously been used a little more than the other as it is slightly discoloured. Together they weigh 1850 g.
The weight will require international postage by courier, prices are indicative and may vary depending upon your location, due to surcharges applicable to some destinations. Please message for a firm price to your location.
